The Augusta Surgin’ Sturgeon were established in 2024 with the acquisition by Wasabi Ventures Sports Management. The team started play on June 1st of that year at Morton Field in Augusta Maine. Augusta is a growing community that is poised for success with extensive infrastructure projects and community involvement.
The Surgin’ Sturgeon provides an elite level of play and facilities to the Greater Northeast Collegiate Baseball League. The Greater Northeast Collegiate Baseball League or the GNCBL, provides some of the best collegiate summer baseball in the Northeast. As a wooden bat collegiate summer baseball team, the Surgin’ Sturgeon attracts some of the best collegiate talent in the country.
